Bio:
Tritobia Hayes Benjamin is associate dean of the Division of Fine Arts, College of Arts and Sciences, professor of art history, and director of the Gallery of Art at Howard University. She is also a graduate of Howard having earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in art history. She holds the Ph.D. in art history from the University of Maryland.

Dr. Benjamin’s professional career has been very distinguished, particularly in the field of African American art history. Her academic work has been mainly on the faculty of Howard University’s former College of Fine Arts, where she has served continuously since 1970.
