Bio:
Dr. Robert
M. Catchings
is Associate
Dean for the
Natural
Sciences
Division in
the College
of Arts and
Sciences. He
is also a
professor in
the
Department
of Physics
and
Astronomy.
Dr.
Catchings
received his
Ph.D. in
physics in
1970 from
Wayne State
University.
He received
his M.S.
degree in
physics from
Wayne State
University
and he
received his
B.S. degree
in
mathematics
from the
University
of Michigan.
His area of
research is
in
experimental
solid state
physics. His
work has
mainly
centered on
magnetic,
electrical,
optical, and
structural
properties
of
materials.
He has
studied
magnetic,
spin glass,
semiconducting,
and
superconducting
materials.
