Dr. Dexter earned her BA at Mahattanville College in Greek
and Latin and her doctorate in Classical Studies from Duke
University. Her primary research interests are the material
culture of Pompeii, ancient Roman social history (especially
involving women), and the interconnections between the classical
world and Asia. In addition to administrative and teaching
positions at George Washington University, Dr. Dexter previously
taught at Howard University as a temporary replacement from
1993 to 1995.
