The Amistad is an online literary journal sponsored by Howard University's College of Arts and Sciences Department of English. The Amistad has an all-volunteer staff committed to expanding the readership, and appreciation of art and literature in all media, for all people. It is our mission to provide a forum for the work young writers and artists of diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds and perspectives. Every issue we are proud to feature the work of award winning and celebrated writers and artists from all over the world - a new generation of writers and artists: multicultural and non-traditional.
