Future Father

Confusion

Future Father

Tripping down the road of fife

Back laced with pain and time,

Compounded time loans of endless hurrying days,

Gray hairs that bring no wisdom

Tic taciturn pachyderm whose epidermal revealed a worm that rotted the apple within

Indecision 2G,

Why me?

Bound by my pinky fingers to a wooden pillar of oak and sweaty time,

Cracks of water more of time,

Whipped by a smiling, bare-backed arsonist,

He cries and I take his smile as he whispers my sorrows

I am the combined fury of a millennium of doubt,

I am the totality of inferiority,

I am the compulsion to replicate my evil and my good in the eyes of the innocent,

I am a future father.

Confusion

You wake up and say I just dreamed an answer,

You realize the truth, the truth of the young and black,

The truth others before you just remembered,

The truth of a chillingly devised system,

Designed so that one hand washes the other,

Your bleary eyes blink ferociously as the words form and linger,

LIES,

Fed until your head brimmed with the propaganda of a distant king,

A king who died and made you his image,

His image is the one you accepted until now,

The people who're enlightened are weird,

Locks, dashikis, clever speech masking their ignorance,

They never woke up to the truth,

Think young one,

Systems that wash the blood from the hand of another,

Drugs + murder + politics + class + race + police - education

It all adds up,

The greatest country is an ironic farce,

Think child,

Your car is not fast enough to escape the truth that makes you nervous,

Sports

Think

White

Think

Devil

Think

Slave

Think

It can't be you mumble: the truth is scary in the morning of remembrance,

I must tell the world...

College kids remember everyday

They forget on the way to the cafeteria,

Or their part-time job,

Or their lover's dorm,

Their dorm

They forget as their cap and gown are airbrushed to perfection,

They forget as they descend into the confusion,

The confusion of forgetting the truth ...

I curse you in the language you gave me ...
