LEISURE STUDIES

An increasing number of Americans view recreation and leisure studies as a fundamental human activity to enhancing their quality of life. The 21st Century society, with its growing longevity, urbanization, cultural diversity of expanding populations, expanded levels of health, fitness, and nutrition consciousness, affluence, science, and technology, needs to be educated to the potential use of free time.

The Leisure Studies major prepares students for careers that focus on leadership and management roles in the leisure and recreation industries.
