URBAN RECREATION

Urban Recreation has two areas of specialization: Leisure Services Management and Therapeutic Recreation. Students are encouraged to elect to take courses in support of their programs through other departments and schools/colleges of Howard University, through the metropolitan D.C. Consortium of colleges and universities and through professional internships in city, county or regional parks, federal and/or recreation departments and institutions. Career opportunities in the field are plentiful and should continue to grow in the next decade.
