FACULTY
The Honors Program
faculty is derived from the departments of the College of Arts
and Sciences. They teach freshman-level Honors Program
courses; Honors Program seminars; Directed Readings and serve as
mentors to those Honors Program students doing research and preparing
to write a thesis.

A graduate of Princeton University and the University of California Berkeley, Dr. Williams has served as Director of the Honors Program for over 12 years. Dr. Williams has led the Honors Program in maintaining exceptional standards for its students and preserving its rich cultural heritage dating back to its inception in 1957.
Dr. Williams is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Howard University. His research interests include Applied Mathematics, Partial Differential Equations, Numerical Analysis, and the Use of Technology in Undergraduate Education. In addition to his role as professor and program director, Dr. Williams is coordinator of the Mathematics Placement Examination and university representative for the Rhodes, Truman and Marshal Scholarship Programs.

Ms. Jennings joined the Honors Program in May of 2010 with over 12 years experience in higher education administration and management with an emphasis on high performing student populations in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines. Committed to excellence in student services, Ms. Jennings maintains a successful track record for launching pilot educational programs designed to advance students underrepresented in STEM disciplines and careers. Her projects have been funded by global organizations including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and major corporations. Ms. Jennings holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in African American Studies from Howard University, a Master of Arts degree in Literature from American University, and a Master of Education degree in Higher Education Administration from George Washington University Graduate School of Education and Human Development.
