Donna Washington, Associate Professor Coordinator of the Music Therapy Program (202) 806-7136 Room LVC 3030 Donna Washington, MCAT, MT-BC, is currently Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Music Therapy Program. She holds an undergraduate degree in Music Therapy/Voice from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh and a Master's degree in Creative Arts in Therapy with a concentration in Music Therapy from Hahnemann University, Philadelphia where her thesis research involved examining music's effects on anxiety states with terminally ill Cancer patients. Ms. Washington has had clinical experiences with many client populations, including mentally ill adults in inpatient and outpatient settings, geriatrics, adult day care, emotionally disturbed/conduct disordered children and adolescents, autistic youth, and medically fragile adults and children. She is an active member of the American Music Therapy Association and served on the Education Committee of the Certification Board for Music Therapy. |
