Jihoon Chang is a member of the United States Marine Band, Washington, DC from 1990 – present.
Demonstrated wide-ranging versatility on all clarinets while performing extensively throughout the United States and Europe, at the White House, for State Department and Commandant of the Marine Corps as a member of “The President’s Own,” United States Marine Band. Soloist with Illinois Clarinet Choir, Gibbs Orchestra, Trinity Chamber Orchestra, and on the Marine Band’s 7-week tour. Performed in faculty recitals at Sandy Spring Museum with distinguished musicians from Gaithersburg and Baltimore region. Founding member of Voci di Vento, a woodwind quintet active throughout the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
Staff member at the Academy of Music in Gaithersburg, teaching up to 13 clarinet and saxophone students, and Camp Encore/Coda in Sweden, ME, nurturing young aspiring musicians as an instructor and counselor. Given numerous master classes in solo, duet, trio, and quartet settings. Choir Director at First Christian Presbyterian Church.
