Joseph Lovinsky, Lecturer French Horn 202-806-4022 Room LVC SB2
Joseph Lovinsky is principal horn of The United States Army Band "Pershing's Own" and the Maryland Symphony Orchestra as well as hornist of the Army Brass Quintet. He is the former principal horn of the Miami City Ballet Orchestra (Florida), and the National Symphony Orchestra of the Dominican Republic. In 1997, Mr. Lovinsky was a featured soloist at the International Horn Society Conference and has since become a frequent guest soloist/clinician throughout the United States . He has toured the U.S., Europe, Japan, China, and South America with a wide variety of ensembles from Leonard Slatkin and the National Symphony to Michael Issacson and the Israel Pops Orchestra. Mr. Lovinsky studied at the Curtis Institute of Music and is a graduate of the Juilliard School where he served as the French Horn Teaching Assistant and received the Irving Berlin Fellowship for Outstanding Orchestral Performance. His teachers include Jerome Ashby, Myron Bloom, James Chambers, Martin Hackleman, Philip Paul, and Robert Watt. |
