  • SOCI-001 INTRODUCTION TO SOCIOLOGY. 3 credits.
    Basic concepts in sociology; the nature and functioning of groups, the individual and the group; social processes; social change.

  • SOCI-020 INTRODUCTION TO SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY 3 credits.
    The development of human nature and personality as products of
    social interaction and culture.

  • SOCI-100 SOCIAL THEORY AND SOCIETY: 3 credits.
    Social theories to the nineteenth century and the subsequent
    development of sociology.*When listed as 025-700 this course also fulfills the third writing requirement in the College of Arts & Sciences.

  • SOCI-110 ELEMENTARY STATISTICS. 3 credits.
    Statistical methods with social data; involving methods for assembling, describing and inferring conclusions about numerical data.

  • SOCI-111 SOCIAL METHODS AND TECHNIQUES. 3 credits.
    Basic methods and techniques employed in sociological research.
  • ANTH-120 BIOLOGICAL ANTHROPOLOGY 3 credits.
    The nature and scope of anthropology; human evolution; heredity; race; growth of culture from its beginnings to the development of civilization.
  • ANTH-110 INTRODUCTION TO CULTURAL ANTHROPOLOGY 3 credits.
    The nature and development of culture; categories of culture; cultural theory; applied anthropology.
