Tips
for Becoming a More Effective and Efficient Student

- Buy

begin.
- Buy
a divided notebook or a separate notebook for each subject
you are taking.
- Read
your syllabi and know what is expected of you for the

to class on time.
- Accept
responsibility for your own learning.
- Learn
your professor’s office locations, phone numbers,
and office hours immediately.
- Obtain
any missed assignments or handouts from your instructors
or fellow students.
- Get
an assignment book and record your deadlines or due dates
for papers, exams,
projects,
etc.
- Take
notes.
- Date
all pages of your notes
- Number
each page of your notes

and exams
that are coming

time
activities
around
the
